Smith Tower from the Northeast - a photo on Flickriver

            I've shot this building many times from many angles, but was never satisfied with the contrast between the sky and the white building.  For this image, I made a mask for the sky, then used the multiply mode for the layer before the B&W conversion.  I also had to use Neat Image on the sky to reduce the noise introduced by the conversions.

Finally the sky is dark enough for my taste.  What do all of you think of artificially-darken skies?
