Santa Fe Big Dome - the San Francisco Chief, 1969

This is the Big Dome Lounge that operated on the Santa Fe's San Francisco Chief between Chicago and San Francisco. I took this photo on April 6, 1969 during a Western vacation. Sadly, the train was one of those discontinued on May 1, 1971 with the advent of Amtrak's takeover of passenger service.
