The cigar style cigarette became popular in the late 1960s, with Cigarella (Churchmans), John Cotton Cigarillos, Calypso and a bit later More. du Maurier was originally a posh brand coming in a hinged flat box, like Sobranie die. The name was later exploited for more normal cigarettes. Embassy cigarettes were also beoming longer and with lower tar as more illness became associated with higher tar cigarettes.
