The Kings Arms, Kings Staith, York UK

            York Floods, February 2020

An early 17th century building on Kings Staith, which was a major quayside until the 19th century. A Grade II Listed building which regularly floods. The highest recorded height of the river was just below the top the door. The staith in front of the pub, under water here, is flooded with tourists in summer, enjoying the cheap Sam Smith's beer on the outdoor seating,rather than by the adjoining River Ouse.
The inn sign depicts King Richard III, who as a boy grew up at Middleham Castle, and as Duke of Gloucester visited York frequently from Sheriff Hutton.
