Ancient Roman iconography in a modern cathedral

            I originally took this photo because this artwork in the window jumped out at me. It's bold. Beautiful. But the more I look the more that I cannot help but see ancient Greek & Roman memes painted on this modern stain glass in a Catholic church. 

What I see is:

1. A Greek & Roman laurel wreath of victory that is worn as a crown
2. A Greek halo ("halos" is actually an ancient Greek word) of light or aura (another Greek word) that encircles the heads of charismatic Greek heroes and deities, which description can be traced as early as Homer
3. A Roman toga / tunic
4. Greek supernatural messengers were drawn with wings on them. These messengers passed messages between earth and heaven  (Olympus), gods and men, so their wings came in handy to whisk them to heaven at great speed. Ancient Greeks called these messengers "ángelos" (angels).
5. Roman hairstyle
6. A Roman pandura lute. The Romans took a 3-string Greek "pandoura", a shorter necked lute, and put a fourth string on it.

This is ancient Rome singing to modernity through the venue of Christianity.
