Kentucky treasure: ancient sea fossils

            A paleolithic treasure
The trilobite fossil above from an ancient sea lies exposed on the surface of a Jeffersonville limestone bed on the banks of the Ohio River–far away from any modern ocean. These fossils from the Devonian Period of some 390 million years ago on the Kentucky and Indiana shores of the Ohio River can be seen, even walked on, in one of the largest Devonian fossil beds in the world.
