A river otter in a Kentucky creek - a photo on Flickriver

            I saw its air bubbles gently break the surface of the water so I picked a spot and sat perfectly still against the rocky bank of the creek with my camera in my lap for quite a long time. Hopefully, I blended into the landscape. That underwater otter sooner or later had to come up for air.

My patience was rewarded. There it was! I ever so slowly brought the camera's viewfinder up to my eye. Click! And then it dove.
