Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas - a photo on Flickriver

            Rodrigo de Freitas é uma lagoa localizada na Zona Sul da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, no Brasil.
Com 9,5 km de contorno, a Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas está ligada ao mar pelo canal do Jardim de Alá, que separa o Leblon de Ipanema. Suas águas são o local preferido dos remadores. Por esse motivo, a lagoa é rodeada por clubes tradicionais do remo, como Flamengo e Vasco (sede náutica), e outros de lazer, como Caiçaras e Piraquê. 

Às margens da lagoa, o público encontra ciclovia, pista de cooper, playground, quadras esportivas e um pequeno centro gastronômico com quiosques que oferecem de comida italiana à japonesa, além de música ao vivo à noite. Anexo está o Parque da Catacumba, que expõe ao ar livre 30 esculturas de artistas brasileiros e estrangeiros.

Desde 1995, a Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas conta com o Parque Tom Jobim, que reúne áreas de lazer, esportes, gastronomia, entre outros. O espaço é tão democrático que abriga até o ParCão, um parque dedicado apenas ao caninos.

Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon is located in the south of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With 9.5 km boundary, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon is connected to the sea through the channel of the Garden of Allah, which separates Ipanema Leblon. Its waters are the perfect choice for paddlers. Therefore, the pond is surrounded by traditional rowing clubs like Flamengo and Vasco (nautical headquarters), and other leisure activities such as Caiçaras and Piraquê. On the banks of the pond, the public is biking, jogging track, playground, sports fields and a small gastronomic center with kiosks that offer Japanese to Italian food, and live music at night. Attached is the Catacomb Park, that an outdoor exhibition of 30 sculptures by Brazilian and foreign artists. Since 1995, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas has the Parque Tom Jobim, which includes areas of leisure, sports, gastronomy, among others. The space is so democratic that is home to the Parcão, a park dedicated only to the canines.
