Sant'Agata alla Fornace, Catania - a photo on Flickriver

            Sant’Agata alla Fornace (also known as San Biagio) is a historical church in Catania, Sicily dedicated to Saint Agatha, the patron saint of the city. The church was built on the site of a furnace where Agatha was tortured during the Decian persecution for her determined profession of faith.

The church has a Neoclassical facade and overlooks the ruins of the Roman amphitheater.
