RMC training buses 1488 & 1510 seen at Chiswick Works Bus Festival in 1983

RMC1510 and 1488 seen here parked up in a quiet corner of Chiswick Works. The coaches had all been bought back from London Country and converted for use as driver trainers - a far cry from the halcyon days of Green Line services. Not sure what those two huge chimneys were - one of which seems to be undergoing some maintenance.

Chiswick Bus Overhaul Works, along with Aldenham, were the 'Holy Grail' of bus spotters in my day, with a huge range of interesting buses and service vehicles mostly hidden from view. So, when it was announced that there would be an open day in 1983, I jumped at the chance of a visit.
