Marantz CAR-400 - a photo on Flickriver

Marantz CAR-400

            I received this Marantz Computuner deck as payment for installing another stereo in a friend’s car sometime during high school (c. 1982). I never plopped it into one of my own vehicles, but it did do a stint as the entertainment system in my basement workshop for years. I even customized a mounting plate so it could reside in the same equipment rack as my Apple II and other audiovisual gear. This deck was also modified with preamp outputs … and it still pumps it out.
