This beautiful flower is native to eastern Asia, this plant is a rhizomatous, evergreen tropical perennial that grows in upright clumps 8 to 10 ft (2.4 to 3.0 m) tall in tropical climates. It bears funnel-formed flowers. Flowers have white or pink perianths with yellow labella with red spots and stripes. There are three stamens, but only one has pollen. There is one pistil. The fruit is globose with many striations. In more typical conditions, it reaches 4 to 8 ft (1.2 to 2.4 m) feet tall in the greenhouse, and 3 to 4 ft (0.91 to 1.22 m) feet tall, as a house plant.

Alpinia zerumbet, es una especie de planta perenne de jengibre nativo de Asia Oriental. Pueden crecer hasta los 2,4 a 3,0 m de altura y produce coloridas flores en forma de embudo. Se cultivan como plantas ornamentales y sus hojas se usan en la cocina y la medicina tradicional.
 Nombre común o vulgar: Alpinia, Azucena de porcelana

 Esta planta, parente do gengibre, é uma herbácea, rizomatosa, que chega a 2 ou 3 metros de altura. Suas folhas são aromáticas, longas, largas e brilhantes. As flores, que surgem no verão e outono, são róseas e brancas, agrupadas em inflorescências semi-pendentes e apresentam aroma suave e agradável. O fruto é do tipo cápsula, de formato globoso e abriga diversas sementes. A propagação de alpínia se dá por meio da divisão de rizomas.

Cette belle fleur est originaire d’Asie de l’Est, cette plante est une vivace tropicale rhizomateuse et persistante qui pousse en touffes verticales de 8 à 10 pieds (2,4 à 3,0 m) de haut dans les climats tropicaux. Il porte des fleurs en forme d’entonnoir. Les fleurs ont des périantthes blancs ou roses avec des étiquettes jaunes avec des taches et des rayures rouges. Il y a trois étamines, mais une seule a du pollen. Il y a un pistil. Le fruit est globuleux avec de nombreuses stries. 

Questo bellissimo fiore è originario dell'Asia orientale, questa pianta è una perenne tropicale rizomatosa e sempreverde che cresce in ciuffi verticali alti da 8 a 10 piedi (da 2,4 a 3,0 m) nei climi tropicali. Porta fiori a forma di imbuto. I fiori hanno perianiti bianchi o rosa con labella gialla con macchie e strisce rosse. Ci sono tre stami, ma solo uno ha il polline. C'è un pistillo. Il frutto è globoso con molte striature.
