The Laundry Workers - a photo on Flickriver

Back in February of 2008 I met and photographed Lennart Jansson. He was an artist that for some thirty years created art with the use of his chainsaw. On the day that I met him he was still very upset that his artwork, a sculpture group about local history, wasn't chosen by the municipality a few years earlier. Instead they picked Clean House by Peter Johansson who is from Gothenburg, some 400 km away from Haninge. Lennart knew a lot about local history and created a group of sculptures, showing how the laundry industry looked in rural Haninge a century ago. This is one of those sculptures. Today you can find it at Lännåker, where another man, Erik Engström today is on collision course with the municipality over his blue pancake restaurant.
