Bee wolf with prey in flight - a photo on Flickriver

            Female bee wolves spend long periods searching around likely spots such as brambles where they hope to catch honey bees to bring back to provision their nest burrows. The bees are stung, which paralyses them, but they remain alive and provide fresh food for the bee wolf's young as they develop.
