Jerome - a photo on Flickriver

Jerome

            Jerome stood on the corner of Lake and Wabash.  He's trying to get money for a cup of coffee and a sandwich.  He is currently staying at the Pacific Garden Mission, but it's not always the greatest, so sometimes he'll sleep on the street.  He made some bad decisions and didn't pay his bills and ended up on the street.  If he had to it all over again, he wouldn't make the same mistakes.  
He's learned to be content in his present situation.  "I've seen people with cars and money and I think "Damn, I wish I had that!"  But then he says, "but that's okay, everything will be alright."  He doesn't worry about things, he's content in whatever situation he's in.  Some people are rude to him, but he just says, "God bless you" as they walk away.  But just as quickly as you have money, it could all be taken away.  All of us are just one step away from being homeless too.  He was a very positive guy and enjoyed talking with me.
