Swallow-tailed Kite in Hot Pursuit - a photo on Flickriver

            I had the opportunity to visit Jackson South Carolina this morning, right after my visit to Audubon’s Silver Bluff Sanctuary Kathwood Ponds. It was an incredible experience as I managed to capture my dream shot. I witnessed a magnificent swallow-tailed kite relentlessly pursuing a June bug. The agility and sharp eyesight of the kite were unmatched, effortlessly devouring the June bug mid-flight without skipping a beat. It was a mesmerizing sight to behold.

I must admit, I regretted not being able to stay longer. The kites made their appearance shortly after nine, and unfortunately, I had to depart before ten. The number of kites in the area was rapidly increasing, creating a captivating scene that I wished I could have observed for a longer duration.
