45/100 The Ladies of Lea's - a photo on Flickriver

Robyn, Summer and Tammy, the Ladies of Lea's, are my forty-fifth addition in the 100 Strangers project. I was celebrating my daughter's birthday three weeks early, so I could surprise her with her first Nikon SLR. Since it wasn't her birthday, she was taken by complete surprise. Here, the Ladies of Lea's celebrate with her.

The 100 Strangers Project is designed to help a photographer build the social and photojournalistic skills necessary to convince complete strangers to pose for a few photographs, as well as tell their stories. The stories of resolve, recovery and redemption that I heard from two of these ladies place them in a league of their own. Everyone has a story, but the willingness to share a story that is so profoundly personal and life changing is a testament to the fact they have overcome the demons of their past.
