            La Chapelle-d'Angillon (Cher)

Château de Béthune (XIe siècle, XVe siècle, XVIe siècle, XVIIe siècle).

Le donjon a été édifié pour Gilon de Sully (Gillon de Seuly), seigneur de Sully et de La Chapelle, vicomte de Bourges,  dans la 2e moitié du XIe siècle. Ce fut lui qui fit bâtir le château de la "chapelle-dam-Gilon" ou "dom-Gilon".

L'ouvrage d'entrée, la chapelle et le corps de logis est ont été édifiés vers 1470 pour Marie d'Albret.  Une tourelle d'escalier qui dessert le donjon a sans doute été ajoutée à la fin du XVe siècle.

La galerie ouest a été construite entre 1528 et 1545 pour Marie d'Albret, deuxième du nom. 

La terrasse a été aménagée vers 1607 pour Maximilien de Béthune, duc de Sully. 

L'aile orientale a été rebâtie à la Renaissance.

Au sud, bâtiments et courtines ont été démolis pour ouvrir la forteresse.  

Le château est actuellement habité.  Le comte Jean d'Ogny, propriétaire du château, ouvre ses portes et commente lui-même la visite.

Devant le château, l'étang des Barres, de 17 ha.
