Lasioglossum sp (Halictidae) - a photo on Flickriver

            It is about time to say goodbye to the bees for this year (added later: I actually saw the last bumblebee of the year on Oct 31st!). The furrow bees and bumble bees are some of the longest to persist. They are also easier to photograph at this time of year, since the lower temperatures are slowing them down.
