Die Sonnenblume

Entflohen aus der Erde Schoss
sucht das Blümchen in das Licht,
es windet sich als junger Spross
zur Sonne hin, emporgericht’

steh'n seine Blüten aus der Erde
der Sonne Strahl bestimmt ihr Sein,
als ob sie selbst zur Sonne werde,
so strahlet sie mit güld’nem Schein.
