Rose's 80th Birthday cake ~ blossoms & books!

An oval (12" x 8") vanilla sponge with strawberry jam & vanilla buttercream.
This cake does look round on this photo.

The pink cake wasn't really supposed to be THAT pink! - I much prefer to mix fondant colours in daylight for this very reason - this was mixed in artificial light and having covered the cake with this very candy pink icing I went to bed , well, upon walking into the kitchen in the morning I let out a shreak! - ... oh my word, that's rather PINK!!!!

... oh well, the cream blossoms hopefully dulled the colours a little!
