            MLW Monday:-

The MLWs never worked passenger trains from Barreiro, despite visiting the nearby works for overhaul.  Pre 1999, their regular haunts were from Lisbon to Figueira Da Foz and Entroncamento to Covilha, confining their activities to north of the Tagus.  In late 1998, CP was split into passenger and freight sectors, with the MLWs becoming freight machines which widened their operational sphere considerably.

MLW MX620 1564 waits departure time at Barreiro on 25th March 2000 with 13861 10h30 Barreiro – Setúbal on the PTG “Rail Day”.  This being the first of four trains to operate this day.
