A Walk in the Park

            Digital abstract, quasi-realist or "post-painterly", in the sense that 
literal imagery is utilised, albeit in a distorted form.  Inspired by nature (the original photo I took was of local countryside) I tried to exploit the 3D effect of digital brushes, resulting in numerous areas of rectangular forms that appear to resonate in the foreground. Almost like a diptych, large brushes were used to create a powerful 3D effect in the centre of the work, creating a montage-like effect.  Indeterminacy or improvisation are also key to the work, allowing for artistic freedom and the accidental.
