Camping below Charang Pass, Kinnaur_Himachal Pradesh

            The iconic clouds that loom over the patch of our hearts marked the hope and fruition this season. Not entirely done with the trail of passion yet, we camped for one night at the Shurting Cave Camp early in June here-probably the first crossing on the other side into Baspa valley at Chitkul.  

The traditional Kinner Kailash Parikrama route that follows the Tidong Gorge (Tirung Gad) from Lambar, leads from Charang to Rangrik Gompa, then via a Cairn crossing SW over the Charang Village  into the Charang Ghati where luminous waters of Shurting Gorge emerge here. 

The final days crossing here engulfed our souls with fear and passion and stood unrequited this year till our boots touched that high ground; having made a way over yet soft snow. It was a walk to remember and shall always be an inspiration of having knocked & found !

PS :- Charang La, 5300m (La = Pass) has been marked here as the lowest saddle on the snow covered ridge-line. Move cursor on the image to see.
