Mid-Summer Selfie

            It’s mid-summer, late July, but at 6,000+ ft and 6:00 am it’s so much colder here than it looks!  I’m wearing every single piece of clothing that was in my backpack.  It was a 5 mile climb to get here and many hikers can do this as a day hike but unless you backpack in and spend the night you miss these early morning shots before the wind picks up and ruins the mirror-like reflection.  There’s often only a few short minutes between when the light is right and when the wind starts to blow.  And that’s if you’re lucky.  I took a series of shots from this small rock perch and stitched them together for a large panoramic view.  You can see the result in the first comment below.
