Thesium australe 081128-7766 - a photo on Flickriver

This is Australia's only species of Thesium, a genus of over 300 species in Africa, Asia and Europe. Like all members of family Santalaceae they are hemiparasites, attaching to roots of other plants but having their own chlorophyll.

A herbaceous perennial with prostrate stems creeping through grassland, it is considered rare in New South Wales.
