AUTONACIONAL Biscuter Voisin - 1955

            The Biscooter was a French car from the famous AVIONS VOISIN factory. It was responding perfectly to the lack of money of European citizens after the war. 
But then, Renault came with its 4CV, and Citroën with the 2CV. They were real cars, mass produced and with low prices. 
The Biscooter VOISIN never went into production in France ... but ! 

Spain who was hungry for anything on wheels found out that the car was perfect for its local market. 
The car had an aluminium body, a single front wheel drive transmission, and a two stroke single cylinder engine. It could reach 70 km/h.
The firm AUTONACIONAL built 12.000 units in Barcelona until 1960.
But the same thing happened in Spain. In 1957, SEAT launched the 600, an affordable and cute real car. In the mean time, the government stopped purveying aluminium for the bodies of the Biscuter. 
Autonacional had to use the oil cans of the Marshall plan to build the bodies of its cars. They had also developed commercial models like the 200C (200 units only)
In 1960 production and sales came to an end. Today it is a popular curiosity in car shows.
