RD5480 Caernarfon Branch turnout - a photo on Flickriver

            RD5480.  Porthmadog Harbour Station is now the terminus of two railways following the opening of the new Welsh Highland Railway connection to the Ffestiniog Railway early in 2011.  The Welsh Highland line to Beddgelert and Caernarfon can be seen going off to the right.  

South African Funkey B-B diesel-hydraulic VALE OF FFESTINIOG is waiting to pull the train out of the station and onto The Cob; once clear of the points these will be switched to the WHR line and ex. Penrhyn Quarry Railway 2-4-0ST/T BLANCHE, already be attached to the other end of the train, will take the train onto the Welsh Highland for a return trip to Hafod y Llyn.
