Butlins Pwllheli - Outdoor Pool - a photo on Flickriver

            The huge outdoor pool at Butlins Pwllheli dated from the 1940s and was located at the front of the camp facing the main road. During the war years the area was used as a parade ground. It was the largest pool in the old Butlins empire and was advertised as "the largest heated swimming pool in Britain". In the early 1980s it was converted into a funpool. 

It was last used around 2001 and was later demolished and filled in. The site is now the Haven Hafan y Mor holiday park and the area previously occupied by the pool is known as Tryfan.
