National UB-140 Portable - a photo on Flickriver

            Here's another super small tube portable under the National brand name. That was Matsushita's brand name in Japan. Elsewhere most Matsushita made radios are found as Panasonic.
This is similar in dimensions to the Koyo "Parrot" radio although it uses 3 miniature tubes and (with no speaker) is a headphone only set. 

Tube compliment is:  DK-96 (1ABG), DF-96 (1A14) and 
DAF-96 (1AH5)

Dimensions are: 
5 inches or 13.5 cm wide, 3.4 inches or 8.2 cm tall
and 1 1/4 inches or 3.4 cm deep. 

Nice colour combination, green cabinet with a bold, gold reverse painted dial area and 3-D checkerboard pattern. 

Circa mid to late 1950's.

Can also be found with an ivory cabinet.
