Harvest time in Baker County Oregon along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway

Baker County is home to more than 2 dozen Oregon Century Farms and Ranches and agriculture is still an important part of the local culture. While not all of our local farms use vintage equipment there are still a few that specialize in vintage and horse drawn equipment and we always enjoy the opportunity to watch some of this antique iron in action.

This weekend we got an invitation to tag along with our friends at Oak Tree Farms in the tiny town of Halfway along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway for an afternoon of Threshing Barley with some pretty fascinating vintage farming equipment.
