Ceanothus Silk Moth caterpillar with my hand for scale

This is another shot of the large caterpillar of a Ceanothus Silk Moth (Hyalophora euryalus) on a branch of California Coffeeberry (Frangula californica, Rhamnaceae) in the woods today - with my hand for scale. It's about the length of my index finger now, maybe three inches long. I've read that they can get up to four or five inches long, so it's not done yet. It's been missing since I got my last photo on July 14, and I'm glad I found it again today. (San Marcos Pass, 26 July 2020)
