14K Tanzanite & Diamond Pendant / 1 - a photo on Flickriver

            A commission....the most novel aspect of this pendant is not the drop-dead gorgeous 3.72 ct. tanzanite.....though it certainly pulls you right in.......it is the very unusual cut of the top two diamonds.....squared off like a princess cut at one end and round at the opposite end.....I've never encountered this shape before....All the bezels were carved from 
ferris green and cast....then the fabricated jump rings were soldered onto the bezels.  I prefer bezels over prongs, all things being equal....just so much less distracting than prongs, to my eye at least.
