            Performing, teaching, talking the talk and walking the walk, the U.S. State Department-sponsored Rennie Harris Puremovement Hip Hop Dance Company took Israel by storm capturing the hearts and minds of Jewish and Arab youth throughout the country.  Disproving the misperception of hip hop as  violent and undisciplined, the dancers showed through personal example how a rich art form based on a vibrant Afro-American culture draws inspiration from many urban sources and molds them all into a new life-affirming genre.    These cultural Ambassadors underscored how the spirit of diversity and multiculturalism interact to create something new and powerful,  which is the strength of American society.
Results: This overwhelmingly successful DanceMotion USA cultural exchange program conducted in conjunction with ECA and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) brought Israeli youth from diverse ethnic backgrounds together to see original expressions of a distinct American art form, demonstrating universal themes that extend beyond racial, religious, and economic boundaries.
