Olympus 100-400 distance test almost 5 miles 5000 feet elev diff

            My new Olympus 100-400 lens just arrived yesterday but I was too busy to use it until pretty late in the day.  I couldn't find any birds to shoot so I shot some other test subjects.  This is a photo of a weather station on top of a mountain about 5 miles away as the crow flies and almost 5000 feet higher in elevation than where I was standing.   This image was only imported into lightroom with default settings and exported as a .jpg.  I think its shows pretty impressive sharpness and reach and I haven't even tried it with the 1.4x teleconverter yet.  I will post some additional test shots once I shoot some wildlife.   I was worried about how impacted its smaller sensor at this focal length might be impacted by atmospheric distortion but seeing as we have had hurricane force winds this week blowing all the wildfire smoke out it was a pretty clear day.
