Things one sees in the snowy Sand Hills

            While driving along Nebraska highway 2 this past weekend for my return to North Dakota, I caught up with this westbound manifest on BNSF's Sand Hills subdivision.  After countless loaded and empty coal drags, this one certainly made up for the lack of variety with a CSX unit in the consist, as well as an former BN unit that another of my contacts shot last year, still wearing its faded paint.  Two of Boeing's 737 fuselages were along for the ride, as well as a cut of DODX flats laden with either new or refurbished APC's.  Farther back in the varied consist were gondolas with pre-fab track switches propped up on their sides.  I spent some time shooting at different locations before running out of light near Alliance, this one just west of Mullen, NE.  (1-10-2016)

I'll post some images of BN SD70MAC #9478, as well as the 1:1 scale "Atlas" switches just as roster-style shots in the comments in the next few days as I find time to get to them.  This is the third Boeing movement I've captured thus far, one loaded last month (see the comments below) and another of the empty cars running east to Wichita in February 2015.
