Damaged Turtle - a photo on Flickriver

Damaged Turtle

            Yeah...I know that this isn't much of a photo, quality-wise.  It is one of those instances where content trumps (oops, should we be using that word without equal time rules applying) quality.

I've never seen a live turtle with a damaged shell, so thought this one was of interest.  No knowledge of how the damage was sustained.  I do know that in this specific area in the woods a very large snapping turtle lives.  Are snappers aggressive towards other turtles?  In any case, the shell was damaged somehow, so worth showing in a (long distance) image.
