R.O.G. ECS move from Leicester & Tinsley Bardon stone empties at two locales - 7557+564

From the Woodhouse Junction Sidings and Station area, a short, brisk, drive back towards Sheffield and another location I haven't visited for what turned out to be about a year, the GCR's Don Valley line just north of Woodburn Junction, the line here now also suffering from over-burdensome lineside tree growth. At that time, in December 2019, the season's RHTT workings were on what ahas now turned out to be the last operation with class 20 units, on that day DRS had hired in two of Harry Needle Railway Company's class 20s in 'satsuma orange' livery, 20314 and 20311, see-

Today, as usual, its the reliable late morning working of the return Bardon Stone empties with, over-looking the scene at the side of the Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation, Tinsley Canal, a green hi-viz liveried keen enthusiast with his mobility equipment standing and watching the train pass the quiet waters of the canal, got to admire his effort to get here to do this... Passing over-head, a GBRf class 66, this one, 66709, 'Sorrento' in 'Maritime M.S.C.' livery on the initial working of 6Z68, which turned out to be something way down south going to another location also in the south, very odd, rather than what was expected, 6M83, the Tinsley Yard(GBRf) to Bardon Hill(GBRf) empties working; the odd headcode changed once the train had passed the Tinsley Yard exit signal at Shepcote Lane. On the left in the bushes, is the trackbed of the Sheffield Supertram/Tram-Train system and with the canal passing under this once very busy line, though you can hardly believe it looking at these pictures, just in front of the loco. In addition, at either side, the land was absolutely festooned with some of the heaviest industrial complexes, related to steel-making and other related businesses, in South Yorkshire.. At right, the 'going away' picture, before the main image of this series, and the set has passed under the Shirland Lane bridge and is slowly making its way around the curve to Woodburn Junction, its speed indicating that Woodburn's signal, W0213, must be at red due to passenger or ECS moves on the main Lincoln lines. The ex-HTA Coal Hoppers are empty as this is the return working from the Amey Stone Processing plant at the north-west end of Tinsley Yard, this morning's 'fulls', 1800 tonnes, came up having set out, 20 minutes early, at 01:08, on the 6E97 working from the Bardon Hill quarry near Kings Lynn in Norfolk, and arrived here, as usual, at 06:30. This working has now been going on since around mid-2013, when I took my first picture of a Freightliner, 66613, hauled empties return working at that time, passing over the massive metal bridge over the Tinsley Canal at Broughton Lane; the stone traffic continues at a reduced rate to this day, though in recent weeks it has picked up again as is now an almost week-daily service. The track through the wood' as it were looks complete here in the Autumn with great colours, but some weeding needing to be undertaken ...
