Network Rail Infra-Structure Monitoring train at Woodhouse - 4053+064+068

* Woodhouse Station
A new CCTV system has been installed at this station which makes an irritating 'warbling' noise every time it detects motion on the platforms! I can't imagine this being very welcome for the, close-by, local neighbours. Apparently some folk have been crossing the lines by scrambling down onto the tracks, to avoid the short walk up the platform and across the bridge... I was told, by the guy at the end of the platform in the 1st pictures, the system is enabled 24 hours/day so its to be hoped night-time cats don't take strolls along the platform, or anything else for that matter! The system is installed just above the ground floor windows platform 1 but it is hidden from view by the passing Test Train in the first pictures... I have just appended a shot of the Northern class 195, 195018 arriving on platform 1 from Sheffield, on the 1L49, on the Leeds to Lincoln Central service, the 'contraption' can be seen to the left of the cab of the DMU, on the wall of the station building on platform 2, just below the upper two windows..
Rattling away speedily just before 195018 arrived, is 37612 with the 1st coach of the Test Train set, coach 96608, 'Brake Force Runner #1'. At right, a well over-grown at this time of the year, so no sign of the Rotherwood Exchange Sidings which were located just beyond those 2 grey boards on posts which appeared during the station refurbishment during the summer of 2021, see-

taken on 4th July, 2021. Looks like trains approaching the station from Sheffield are being warned about something...
Heading the 'MENTOR', 'Improving Your Railway' Test Train set is blue liveried 37612, ex-D6879, operated by Colas Rail on that day's 3Q35, Barnetby via all over to Doncaster West Yard, working. In the set are coaches-
99608, Brake Force Runner 1, 99666(3250), Support Coach 1, 72630(6094), Brake Force Runner #2, Coach 9808, Support Coach #2, this an old Caledonian Sleeper Coach, No.1-11, 62384(EMU 62384), the Ultrasonic Test Coach UTU-#1 with 'Improving Your Railway' on the side and, at the back D.B.S.O., 'Driver Brake Standard Open, No. 9701, also looking very smart indeed, its former Anglia Rail D.B.S.O. unit, 9528, built at Derby in 1974, so is almost 50 years old...

After the traction had passed, a few shots were taken of the Lincoln lines looking south towards Woodhouse Junction, the pictures taken from the Furnace Lane bridge,. It turned out that the bridge is now under an 18tonne weight restriction due to issues found with the old bridge deck during recent road re-surfacing work. Single lanes in each direction have been fenced and it appears, from what was said earlier by the guy on the platform, that there is weakness in the support structure underneath. This clearly would be a disruptive piece of engineering to replace the deck and a look at the 'Railwaydata' website, see-

shows that N.R. rate this bridge, MAC/153, as 59/100, which puts it in the 'Grade 3' middle band category, 'As a very rough guide, a score below 40 is considered in poor condition, with a score above 80 in excellent condition'; all bridges are inspected every 6 years. It will be interesting to see how things develop from here, 18tonnes is just over the fully laden weight of a double-decker bus and these frequently pass over this bridge, several times an hour, during the day...
