Lovers Walk

            The Cinque Terre are five coastal villages in the province of La Spezia in the Liguria region of Italy. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all encapsulated in a national park by the same name. The Cinque Terre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The trail from Monterosso to Vernazza is by far the steepest. It winds through olive orchards and vineyards and is rough in places, but offers the best view of the bay and the spectacular approaches to Vernazza.

There are well-laid out walking trails connecting each village to its neighbors. The Via Dell'Amore (roughly, "Lovers Walk").

De Cinque Terre bestaat uit vijf dorpjes langs de Italiaanse kust vlakbij La Spezia in Ligurië in Italië. De dorpen zijn in 1997 opgenomen in de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO. Het gebied is niet bereikbaar met de auto langs de steile kust. Er loopt een wandelpad dat de vijf dorpjes met elkaar verbindt: de Via Dell'Amore. Ook worden de dorpen met elkaar verbonden via een spoorlijn die onderdeel is van de hoofdlijn La Spezia-Genua. Via het wandelpad heeft men uitzicht op zee en de met terrassenteelt bewerkte heuvels. Ook zijn er door muurtjes begrensde olijf- en citroenboomgaarden op de heuvelwanden te vinden.
