Former head post office then and now!

            At the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, a number of known buildings can be found: the Palace on the Dam, the New Church, the former head post office now shopping center Magna Plaza. The post office was build 1895-1899. This photo was taken beginning of 1900.

Het oude Hoofdpostkantoor te Amsterdam 19de eeuw, thans winkelcentrum Magna Plaza. Het voormalige Amsterdamse Hoofdpostkantoor is gelegen aan de Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal achter het Paleis op de Dam. Het werd gebouwd in de periode 1895-1899 naar ontwerp van rijksbouwmeester C.H. Peters. Het gebouw is opgetrokken in een mengvorm van neo-stijlen, waarbij met name neo-gotische en neo-renaissance elementen zijn gebruikt.
