In the Bavarian Alps you may go paragliding. It is a paradise for paragliders as well and quite often you will see paraglider-Tandem-pilots. You may book such flights some time in advance. Here in the Bavaria you begin to appreciate the magic and adventure of the mountains. Well sign-posted trails invite hikers to discover nature's beauty on foot, there are walks for every level of difficulty. Berner, Bad Reichenhall is located on the border of the Berchtesgaden National Park, with high mountains to the west and south. Numerous boulders are strewn over the flat shore area, part of which is wooded; on the south side are meadows. The area of Berner near Lake Thumsee are among the most picturesque in the Bavarian Alps. Artists and novelists discovered both sites in the 1800s and, later, film-makers chose this area as an idyllic setting for alpine majesty and pastoral romance. Today the magnificent scenery of which the lake is a part attracts thousands of holidaymakers every year. The area is particularly popular among walkers with its excellent network of hiking trails. Pleasant walks through the forest or along the banks of Lake Thumsee can be enjoyed year-round.

No-one can complain about a lack of places to visit in Berchtesgadener Land. An overwhelming bird's eye view is just reserved to a couple paragliders. Enjoying his or her airy cocpit view above green meadows, past cliffy rocks with all of its magnificence.

In het zuidoosten van Beieren liggen de Alpen van het Berchtesgadener Land. Dit is het gebied voor het betere bergwandelen, klimmen, skiën en natuurlijk paragliden. Zoals hier in het dal van Berner, Bad Reichenhall. Het gebied dat vlak voor de hoge bergen wordt genoemd en heeft mooie meren en groene alpenweitjes. Meer dan een dozijn wandelroutes in de meest uiteenlopende moeilijkheidsgraden beginnen hier. Ze behoren tot de mooiste routes van de Duitse Alpen. Zachte weiden en heuvels, steile rotsen: het Berchtesgadener Land is spectaculair en uniek in zijn diversiteit. Voor de fanatiekeling zijn er mogelijkheden om een tandem vlucht te maken. Spannend zo hangend onder een paraglider van prachtige vergezichten genieten. Rondom het National Park zijn er regels voor paragliding om het wild niet te storen. De bevolking van het Berchtesgadener Land is trots op hun tradities en cultuur. Op 1 mei bijvoorbeeld dansen en drinken ze op de alpenwei rond de meiboom. In klederdracht en op Beierse volksmuziek. In de zomer gaan de koeien naar de alpenwei. Nog steeds verblijven boerenfamilies de hele Almsommer op de berg om de koeien te melken en boter en kaas te maken. Wie langs zo’n zomerboerderij wandelt of fietst, kan vaak wel een hapje mee-eten van het spekbrood met kaas. De Vooralpen zijn ook uitstekend geschikt om te fietsen.
