Should Joyous Angels Rise - For Sandy ( Abstractartangel77 )

            Image dedicated to Sandy ( Abstractartangel77 ) for her Oct. 9 Birthday.

The images were compiled and collaged on March 19, 2018 and finally finished with edging and bordering on Sept 29, 2018.

The original Panos where taken in June of 2015 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York.  Just to the south of the cathedral is a wonderful garden, very large for Manhattan real estate.  In the Garden is amazing fountain, called "The Peace Fountain", which depicts, in very idiosynchratic style, the battle between the forces of good and evil but mostly in the forms of animals.  Only the smiling Sun disk and a hovering angel have anything anthropomorphic about them. It's a mystery and the creator of the sculpture is NOT acknowledged at the site.  One has to dig up his name online.

I thought that something different and uplifting would be nice to give Sandy for her Birthday.  When I create birthday images for people I think of their own work and try to incorporate some aspect or features of their work into what I'm doing for them.  In Sandy's case the title refers to her Flickr nom de plume - AbstractartANGEL77.  It also connects to the subjects in the images themselves.  Sandy works in dip- and trip-tychs a lot so  the final image is in two frames. Her work also often has areas of softly glowing light, which can be described with the painter's term "sfumato", hence the hazy, illuminated clouds permeating the sharper forms of the image.
