            Established on the Island of Madeira in 1811, Blandy’s is a solid family group which continues to be based in Madeira, with investments in mainland Portugal, Brazil and the remnants of some past investments in the Canary islands .
Celebrating 200 years since its foundation, the group has had to restructure on several occasions and today has consolidated its interests into four major core areas of business: Hotel Investments, Madeira Wine, the best known brand being Blandy’s, Travel & Shipping and Media. The group also holds investments in the Madeira Story Centre, Insular the flour milling company, as well as Real Estate properties. In recent years much of the development has been through the creation of joint venture companies, a strategy which has proven to be successful. The company’s history is intrinsically linked with the historical and economic development of Madeira. Seven successive generations of the Blandy family have successfully developed, sold, maintained and created new business enterprises and in this way assured the success of the group for the future
