Baltimore - Mid-Town-Belvedere: UBalt - Edgar Allan Poe Statue

            The Edgar Allan Poe statue, located in Gordon Plaza at the University of Baltimore, was the final work of the renowned sculptor Moses Jacob Ezekiel. Commissioned in 1911 by the Edgar Allan Poe Memorial Association, it had a tumultuous journey to its completion, including multiple models destroyed by a fire and an earthquake, before finally arriving in Baltimore's Wyman Park in 1921, long after Ezekiel's death.  It was moved to its current location in 1983, where it has become a university icon.
