            Another sizeable post and no need to comment on all the photos. 

Just to the north of the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua there is a bit of lava stretching out into the Pacific Ocean called Makalua-puna Point. “The trachyte lava here is different that most Hawaiian Lavas. Light colored, dense and fine grained, bleached white in some areas, it flowed during the dying days of the West Maui volcano half a million years ago.” This passage is taken from the Maui Revealed Guide Book. Wise to pick up a copy before you head to Maui. The wind and the sea have fashioned that lava into shapes know as Dragon’s Teeth. I was able to spend some time there photographing the area and taking in the features. The bit of lava is located between Oneloa Bay and Honokahua Bay. Some unique shapes and I hope you enjoy.
