Ian, preparing to install engine + transmission

            Here Ian is bailing me out once again- this is the engine I ordered for the pickup, and he kindly lent his expertise to all the critical points of this project, including this one and removing the transmission and rear axles earler. I couldn't have done it without him, I wouldn't have tried, without him. This was a REALLY COOL project but nothing I could have managed without help!

Looking at the issues, we concluded that it was smarter to assemble the transmission and engine and bolt it all up BEFORE installing the assembly in the vehicle. This meant we didn't have to try to get the upper engine/transmission bell housing bolts together while lying under the truck and reaching up into the dark. for example. Putting a new clutch and connecting engine and transmission is really pretty straight forward when it all out where you can see everything and get at it from any direction :)

I had been so impressed by Ian's white coveralls at previous  vehicle parties that I bought myself my own set...
