Gorman Mountain Top - a photo on Flickriver

            Gorman, California, 2012

Given the poor showing of flowers in the California southland, it was a pleasant surprise to find this display nearby.  Don't expect to find them by Gorman Post road...they are high up on the mountains, and only reachable by a strenuous hike.  I know there are poppies, lupine, and chia in this scene, but there are many others I don't know.  I chose to back light this scene to draw contrast between the hills behind and the flowers.  It's a difficult exposure, but I think it worked well enough to post it.  Some flaring was cleaned up with photoshop.
