The Western Morning News wrote, on Thursday 29th May 1924:

Those Plymothians fortunate enough numbered among the ranks "listeners-in" will, thanks to the enterprise of the local officials of the British Broadcasting Company, Saturday, given an opportunity hearing the speeches on the noteworthy occasion of the visit Queen Marie of Rumania. With co-operation of the Post Office authorities, the telephone line has been extended the Plymouth Couscil Chamber, where the historic microphone, which is one of those used the opening of the Empire Exhibition Wembley, will be installed. The microphone will be placed about 12 feet from the Mayor, who will read address of welcome, and Queen Marie will reply. The arrangements are being carried out Mr. H. Litt, the superintendent engineer of the company.

Sadly, the Radio Times of 25th May 1924 makes no mention of the broadcast. The Plymouth station (broadcasting at 200 watts) very largely carried simultaneous broadcasts from 2LO (London) although every day they did broadcast "Plymouth Children's Hour" from 5.30 to 6.30pm.
