It's been pretty hard to put together a history of this place.

Built in 1895 as the Belleview Brewery the building eventually came over the ownership of the C.M. Mockbee Co.  a leading supplier of of stainless steel fasteners, x-bracing, tie-rods, threaded rod, and other heavy hardware.  Eventually the C.M. Mockbee Co. moved to a new location on Spring Grove Ave and The Mockbee building became a venue for local artists to display their work, but that eventually came to an end in 2005 and the building sat dormant for a couple of years.  Over the last year Mockbee has seen a revitalization as leading venue for both today's underground and mainstream parties featuring not only local artists in both art and music, but a also as a dance club for both the EBM (Electronic Body Music), Industrial and Goth scene and the Hip Hop scene.
